The Moment I Discovered My Power

It was summer 2020, deep into our first COVID lockdown. I was working from home, spending long days on employment law while also studying for my law degree. I'd had an intense routine for a few years by this point, and depression was settling in. I was burnt out and had no more energy to give.

I was miserable.

One night, I'd had enough. I wanted to start feeling happy again. So I watched a YouTube video about journaling and decided to try it. I opened a blank page and started writing.

And for the first time in months, I felt better. My mind felt quieter.

The reason was that I explored what was actually happening inside my mind without judgment, and mapped it down onto paper so I didn't have to think about it anymore.

That moment is when I realised that we have the power to change our internal world anytime, any way we want.

From Corporate Law to Internal Explorer

I spent nearly six years training to become a solicitor. For most of that time, I was terrified of failing the Solicitors Qualification Exam (SQE). Anxiety kept me awake for years.

And then I did fail. Both parts.

Burnout, depression, and the realisation that  I didn't want to be a lawyer anymore had caught up with me.

What I wasn’t expecting was for failing to free me: From the fear I'd been carrying, and a career path I wasn't happy in anymore.

So after I failed, I took the chance to do something else. I wrote a book. I had no idea if I could even write a book. I doubted it actually, questioned myself constantly.

But I was inspired by my recent freedom from fear, and wanted to explore it. I wanted to help other people going through the same thing.

So I started writing. And the first time I did, the words flowed out of me. When I finished that session, I felt something I'd never imagined: my energy had recycled itself. Instead of being drained, I was refueled.

That's when I knew that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

What I'm Writing

What I'm Writing

I'm exploring humanity's greatest internal challenges: fear, integrity, grief, trust, love, hope, shame, and more.

Each book is:

An adventure for me first: The writing process is the discovery process for me.

Original: I write in an isolated container without any external research.

A map - My findings shaped into a guide you can use for your own journey

Intuitive - Based on deep internal exploration, personal experience, and social patterns observations.

My Approach: The Internal Explorer Protocol

I guide readers through the five pillars of the Protocol:

Curious - “Let your curiosity and wonder endlessly follow your interests in your inner world.”

Contrarian - “See what others ignore, and trust the perspective only you can find.”

Creative - “Give yourself permission to create patterns and possibilities from fresh perspectives.”

Conscientious - “Commit to the adventure within, and see it through to peace.”

Critical Thinker - “Reflect on your discoveries, keeping what serves you and letting go of what doesn’t.”

These pillars form the Code of Conduct of the Internal Explorer, guiding you through navigating your inner world with power, trust, and self-direction.
